In this video, Sue-ellen Hill explains 3 key things that you can do to reduce stress.
Hi I’m Sue-ellen and I am here today to talk about three things that you can do daily for a better life. The first one is meditation why you would do this it just helps to reduce stress, anxiety, help with sleep and a whole stack of other things how you do this it’s very simple there’s a whole heap of apps you can download.
There’s headspace app that is a really good one that has lots of different meditations. They’re very short ones you can go up to a couple of minutes up to like 20 minutes.
The second one is to practice mindfulness; why you do this is because it’s really good for stress and anxiety.
How you do this, I mean there’s lots of different exercises for that as well simple ones walk out while you’re walking outside is just generally to focus on little things like um you know the – the flowers, the trees.
Simple things that you don’t generally focus on when you’re in your busy life, washing the dishes – it sounds really simple and probably a little bit silly in some respects but focus on the water running onto the dishes with the soap running onto the dishes it’s just getting your mind off of your daily busy life.
The third thing is pay attention to your breathing while you do this, this also reduces your stress and anxiety, helps with sleep as well um how you would do this there is lots of breathing exercises um you can do as well with this um the simple ones of even just lying down on your bed in a quiet spot counting to 10 and just slowly breathing in and out with your eyes closed just counting to 10 as well.
